About Unfini-SHEDS

The idea came from Susan Briscoe.  "Why don't you have a stand selling unfinished items from well-known people in the quilting world?" she said.  The thought stayed with me while I was beginning to work out what to do for the Tombola stand for Festival of Quilts 2014.  "That's a great idea Susan," I replied!  "we could make shed-loads of money for The Guild that way!"  And that is how the "Unfini-SHEDS" was born.  We have watched it grow to maturity and it culminated in a spectacular display at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.

The leaflets were designed and were sent out to those we wished to ask
to make us an A4 sized piece which would be quilted but not bound.

Each piece of unfinished work was shown at Festival of  Quilts 2014 on a stand alonside the Quilters' Guild tombola; Each item was displayed framed behind a piece of mounting card.  All we were asking was £25 plus p+p* for each of these works of art.  Now you have got your piece home,  you can put it in a picture frame to adorn the lounge wall,  add it to a special quilting project or turn it into anything you feel will ensure it gets the glory and kudos it deserves.  It's a small price to pay for a masterpiece and the money raised will help The Quilters' Guild enormously in its quest for conservation of and education in our craft.

We are repeating this scheme in 2024 and hope that you will find a piece of work by one of our famous quilters to love and cherish.  For just £30 plus postage at cost (unless you pick it up at Festival Of Quilts), it's a real bargain for a work of art!  Keep an eye on this website as items arrive and are listed.  You can purchase them here on the website by using PayPal or by BACS.  Use the contact form to ask for details to send to our bank.
